HISTORY

Fluor Corporation is one of the 500 companies listed in the Fortune 500 Magazine and one of the largest public Engineering, Construction, and Maintenance and Procurement Service companies in the world, with total sales for US$16 mil MM and more than 50,000 employees distributed worldwide.

AMECO is a Fluor subsidiary and a leading integral supplier of equipment for the Construction, Mining, Industry, and Government Agency markets, which operates in five regions (NORTH AMERICA, MEXICO, THE CARIBBEAN, SOUTH AMERICA, AFRICA and THE MIDDLE EAST).

Its corporate offices are located in Greenville, South Carolina, USA. AMECO was founded in 1947 as part of Daniel Construction Company, a regional construction company in the United States.

In 1971, AMECO becomes a "package" service provider to support construction projects.

In 1977, Fluor Corporation acquires Daniel Construction Company and several years later, FluorPort. An internal Fluor equipment division merges with AMECO.

In 1987, AMECO is geographically extended, starting its growth on the rental, sale and product support market with customers of the construction and industry fields, providing a customized solution to their tool and equipment needs.

AMEXO Mexico was founded in 1995 and four years later it merged with MAPSA (Maquinaria Panamericana), a company founded in 1946.
Annual sales in Mexico: US$ 220MM with 550 employees.
Estimated Mexican fleet: 2,500 units with a value of US$115 million.

Global AMECO annual sales: US$ 750MM with 2,000 employees.
